Well, once the Apple organization works things out with the Chinese production timetable, the new iPhone 14 will be available for all those eager to have the newest and the most innovative mobile phone.  Without sounding like a curmudgeon, I have an issue with the way we “ooh” and “aah” over the latest gadgets, the latest technological developments, while failing to notice the simple marvels and miracles of life all around us every day:  those serendipitous moments and experiences which come to us from God. 

In other words, while oohing and aahing over technology, we often forget to ooh and aah at the marvel and miracle evident everyday in our lives as God breaks into our daily routines with bountiful blessings and wonders.

Life is full of God-given serendipities, marvels, even miracles.  The problem is we aren’t always paying attention.  If we stop, look, and listen, we can see or hear them.  Thus, we need to pay attention…

  • To that person who crosses our path just at the moment we need him or her in our life;
  • To that occasion when a phone call or a note comes with just the assuring words we need to hear;
  • To that thought or idea which pops into our head and enables us make a decision we’re needing to make;
  • To that conversation in which we find the uplift or the wisdom we need at that given time;
  • To that unexpected experience through which we find our souls refreshed and our spirits renewed;
  • Etc.

Some folks will tell you that these moments are just coincidence.  That assessment can make sense.  But, let me repeat a perception which is worth embracing, Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.  That quote is attributed to Albert Einstein.  I’m not sure he’s the author but whoever stated it has given us a truth which indeed we need to receive.

Those who pay attention to all that God is immeasurably doing in our lives day in and day out are joyful and vibrant people!
